Welcome to the Asian Alumni Association!
A great way to connect with IU
Established in 2002, the Indiana University Asian Alumni Association aims to increase scholarships, create programming and events for alumni to visit IU, and provide networking opportunities to alumni.
In an effort to collaborate in a more robust fashion, the Indiana University Asian Alumni Association has been forging new friendships with partners throughout IU as we host the Distinguished Asian Alumni Awards ceremony. Early successes of this were evident when the award was bestowed upon Judge Michael Witte in 2008 at the 10th anniversary celebration for the Asian Culture Center in a packed Alumni Hall. Anurag Mendhekar was honored during the first ever IU-Purdue Asian American Studies Conference banquet in the Neal-Marshall Black Culture Center Grand Hall. Also, Professor Sau Ling Wong was recently honored in conjunction with a conference on citizenship being held at IU.
The IUAAA's partners include the IU Asian Culture Center, student groups, deans, faculty, and support staff from schools such as the School of Informatics. In this innovative way, the IUAAA has increased the awareness and deepened the meaning of the DAA award. The award signals that the contributions of Asian/Asian-American students have a unique place and role in the mission of Indiana University.
The IUAAA welcomes your membership, ideas, and energy.
