You’re our alums in residence, so we want to get to know you while you’re here—no reason to wait! We value the student experience and host a variety of programs, events, and leadership opportunities to help build upon the foundations of community, leadership, and tradition that are part of Indiana University. We’ll also start plugging you into the IU alumni family, which extends all around the world.
Have fun
- Homecoming: SAA plans everything from promotions like Yell Like Hell to the parade. See what we're up to this year.
- Membership Parties: In addition to monthly meetings, SAA members enjoy basketball pre-game parties and other special events.
- Senior Salute: We give seniors a fun send-off party in April, featuring prizes, live music, and lots of food.
Develop leadership skills
- MemberCorps: MemberCorps is an opportunity to learn about IU, plan events, have leadership opportunities, attend social activities, and more. This unique opportunity will plug you into IU and a fun group of people right away!
Learn about networking
- Networking Nights: Come meet and mingle with career representatives during a series of Networking Nights sponsored by SAA and the Career Development Center.
- Dinner with 12 Hoosiers: Make a big place small by connecting with alumni, faculty, and other students at these informal dinners hosted around Bloomington.
- Etiquette Dinners: Prepare yourself for dinner interviews with a formal dining tutorial. This event is available exclusively to members of the Student Alumni Association for only $15.00.
- Hosting: The Student Alumni Association Hosting Committee is available to assist at your upcoming programs and events.
Make a difference
- IU Cares: Join IU alumni around the state and participate in community service projects during the IU Cares month this April. Start caring today!
- Blood Donor Challenge: SAA coordinates IU’s student participation in this annual "bloody" challenge.
- Senior Tree Dedication: SAA plans the dedication of a tree from each graduating class.
- Student Choice Awards: SAA promotes, collects nominations, and makes the final decisions for the Student Choice Awards for outstanding faculty members.
