About the Tournament
The IU Asian Alumni Association Student Scholarship Volleyball Tournament is a joint venture co-sponsored by the IU Asian Alumni Association and the Asian Student Union of Indiana University. The purpose of the tournament is to promote cultural and social interactions, and build and strengthen relationships between IU alumni, students, and community members while contributing to the IU Asian Alumni Association Student Scholarship Fund. The scholarship was created to recognize academic excellence by providing financial support to Asian/Asian American undergraduate students at IU. All proceeds from the tournament benefit the student scholarship fund.

The 2009 tournament will be held on Saturday, Feb. 28. To register your team today, please complete and submit the online registration form.
Inaugural IU Asian Alumni Association Student Scholarship Volleyball Tournament
The inaugural IU Asian Alumni Association Student Scholarship Volleyball Tournament was held Sunday, April 6, 2008, at the HPER Building located on the IU Bloomington campus. Competition began at 10 a.m. and lasted until 6:30 p.m. More than forty individuals competed on ten different teams for the first place title. IU students, faculty members, and alumni, as well as individuals from the Bloomington community and as far away as the city of Indianapolis competed.
“We hope to make this an event that IU students, alumni, and community members look forward to participating in every year,” said Jessica Kim, president of the IU Asian Alumni Association, “Not only is our association promoting health and wellness and cultural exchange by co-sponsoring this event, the tournament has now become a great asset in raising funds for our student scholarship.”
Overall, the tournament raised $1,000 towards the scholarship fund.
Several prizes were donated by local businesses and monetary support was generously offered by local business owners, individual donors, as well as other associations including the Korean American Women’s Association of Indianapolis. The IU Asian Alumni Association thanks and acknowledges the support from our sponsors and donors for their contributions in making the first annual event truly a success.
