The Greater Cincinnati Chapter of the IU Alumni Association is an active chapter of the Indiana University Alumni Association.
Annual Student Send-Off
The Greater Cincinnati Chapter Annual Student Send-Off was held on Thursday, April 23, at Summit Country Day School in O’Bryonville. We had 11 students from all over the city and their families attend. The students mingled with each other and Indiana University alumni, finding out as much as they could about what to expect when they arrive at IU in August. We gave away two $50 gift certificates for books at T.I.S. Books as well as T-shirts and postcards with the "IU Fight Song." We wanted to ensure that the Cincinnati-area students are well prepared to cheer on our Hoosiers in the fall. We wish all of the local students starting at IU the best of luck in Bloomington!
IU Cares
April is IU Cares month when alumni chapters all over the country participate in community-service events throughout the month. On Saturday, April 25, our chapter participated in IU Cares month by volunteering with the Cincinnati Parks for Green Up Day. We helped plant trees in Eden Park. We planted redbud, witch hazel, and dogwood trees on a hillside in the park. It was a beautiful day and our hillside looked wonderful when we were finished. We Exist To:
- Provide information about IU to former students, friends, and alumni
- Encourage membership in the IUAA
- Provide entertainment and events for our members
- Give support to our local community in the form of community service and scholarships for area students
