Secretary for the Greater Cincinnati Chapter of the IUAA
Why I’m involved with IUAA:
I gained so much from my four years at IU, including great friendships and a real sense of community. Being involved with IUAA helps me stay connected to IU and is a meaningful way to give something back to the school that is so important to me.
Favorite IU memory:
Some of my most favorite memories took place each year in the spring during Little 500 week. Working for the Student Foundation at the races and enjoying the races as a spectator were always a good time.
Where I live and work in Greater Cincinnati:
I currently live in Hyde Park and work in the Tri-County area.
Elizabeth Cook
BS’06 in cognitive science
Director of Student Recruitment for the Greater Cincinnati Chapter of the IUAA
Why I’m involved with IUAA:
As a student, I was a tour guide and shared my love of IU with prospective students. As an alumna,
the IUAA is the perfect way to share the memories and traditions of IU with others.
Favorite IU memory:
I have so many incredible memories from IU. One of my favorites is the rally that followed the
IU vs. Maryland game my freshman year. This was the rematch of the previous year’s NCAA
championship that IU had lost. When we won that fall, all of my friends and I joined other
freshmen in a rally and marched to Showalter Fountain. It was a fantastic display of Hoosier
spirit!
Where I live and work in Greater Cincinnati:
I live in Hyde Park and work downtown.
Kirk Walda
BS’06 in psychology
Greater Cincinnati Chapter Vice President
Why I’m involved with IUAA:
It’s a
pleasure to be able to regularly connect with people who have the same love for Indiana
University that I have. IUAA also helps me stay in touch with what’s going on at
the university.
Favorite IU memory:
I think every IU graduate
has countless fond memories of their time at school. My favorites range from simple
pleasures like walking through campus in the spring to the excitement of Homecoming
weekend during my senior year and all of the accompanying festivities.
Where I live and work in Greater Cincinnati:
I live on a great street in Oakley and I work in Mason.
