Hoosier CAN Football Recruiting 2008 Team

The CAN football season is right around the corner and the team is looking for players and coaches. Games are Saturday and Sunday mornings starting in September and running until December. The end of season tournament is in January. The Hoosier team plays against other alumni teams at the base of the Washington Monument or at Anacostia Park. If you are interested in playing on the team, please e-mail and she will put you on the roster.

The initial details for the 2008 Pre-Season Football Tournament are below. Please e-mail if you are interested in playing in the tournament.

The Syracuse University Alumni Club of D.C. is pleased to be the sponsor for this year’s 2008 Pre-Season Football Tournament to kick off the CAN Football season. The tournament will be held on Saturday, Aug. 23. This is an all-day event with the after party to occur that evening. The tournament will be conducted the same as in years past — single elimination until a champion emerges. Those teams that lose in the first round will be paired against each other for a second game, so all teams can play at least two games.

The Syracuse Alumni Club of D.C. has selected (Art Monk’s) The Good Samaritan Foundation as the tournament charity. The mission of GSF is based on the strong commitment of its founders to "Prepare Youth for Leadership in the Community and the Workplace."

This mission is achieved through the Student Training Opportunity Program which provides youth with the environment needed to equip them with the skills, training, and resources necessary to compete successfully in society.
