Chapter Events

The chapter organizes events such as the Student Send-off (summer), the Congressional Breakfast (spring), and receptions, in addition to monthly board meetings (open to the public—see calendar for next meeting date). We also often participate in D.C.-area events that are organized and promoted by IU Bloomington, like recruiting fairs, SPEA colloquia, and Indiana Day at the National Cathedral. Contact Nikki White.

Sporting Events

Thanks to the Nationals, D.C.-area Hoosiers have yet another fun way to meet each other! The chapter always tries to reserve a block of seats at the sporting events we promote, so you can hang out with your fellow alumni. Events we've hosted include Nationals, Orioles, D.C. United, and Capitals games. Contact Rich Leopold.

Neal-Marshall Club

An affiliate of the IU Alumni Association, this club was originally founded in 1980 to meet the needs of IU's African American alumni and to increase their participation in local and national IU alumni groups. Today the club's mission includes addressing the needs of African American students, faculty, and staff, as well as promoting the awareness of the history, traditions, and legacy of African Americans at IU. (The club is named for the first African American male and female graduates of Indiana University: Marcellus Neal, BA 1895, and Frances Marshall, BA’19. Check out the Neal-Marshall Alumni Club Web site for more info.) The Washington, D.C., Chapter of the IUAA has started our own club; check the chapter calendar for events information.
