IU vs. Illinois Game Watch

What: IU vs. Illinois game-watch event and social (you + family+friends)

When: Saturday, Oct. 18, kickoff at 8 p.m.

Where: Chicago Pizza and Sports Grille, 8206 Philips Highway, Jacksonville (Southwest corner of Phillips and Baymeadows); (904) 731-9797.

Other: We have invited players and coaches from Kellen Lewis’s high school (Mandarin) as well as other friends and family of IU’s star quarterback. It would be great if we had a good turnout to show our support for Kellen Lewis.

Please confirm your attendance. If you plan to come, give us a shout. Please contact at (904) 891-8894 by Oct. 17. But feel welcome to come even if you are not able to respond.

Past Activities

Suns Game: We had a good turnout for the Jacksonville Suns game in July 2008 where Jacksonville’s own Kellen Lewis and his parents graciously attended our pre-game cookout. They went above and beyond to get to know IU alumni. It was great to hear Kellen’s stories about his times at IU and his thoughts about the upcoming football season. A thank you goes out to our officer Walt Hermann for putting a lot of time and skills in grilling up the dogs and burgers.

Officer/Board: At the Suns game, we also elected (i.e., accepted volunteers) officers and board members for the 2008-09 session. We are always looking for more volunteers during the year. Contact one of the officers if you are interested in volunteering or learning more about the Jacksonville Chapter.
