Chapter Recognized with Circle of Excellence and Indiana Cares Awards
The Monroe County Chapter received awards at the IUAA Chapter Leadership Conference held in Bloomington, Ind. on June 12 to 14, 2008. The chapter was recognized with the following awards:
- Circle of Excellence
- Indiana Cares
The Circle of Excellence award is given to chapters that are judged by the IUAA’s chapter awards committee to be outstanding in their service to IU and its alumni. Key areas the chapters must focus on include chapter organization, communications, community service, programming, membership, and service to IU.
The Indiana Cares awards are given to chapters that have sponsored a unique or outstanding community-service project or program. This past year, our chapter held our annual tailgate party/food drive for Hoosier Hills Food Bank, organized the Triple Crown running series, adopted a family during the holidays, and adopted a stretch of College Avenue on the north side of Bloomington to clean and maintain at least four times a year.
Congratulations to everyone (board members, volunteers, members, etc.) who helped the chapter with its programs and events during the past year.

Whaley, daughter of Christine and Greg Whaley, will graduate from Edgewood with a 3.98 GPA. She is uncertain of her major at
