Kristi Jackson

Degree:
BS'93 Public Affairs (SPEA)

Family:
Husband, Brady, who works for IU and son, Luke, who is 16 months old.

Current Position/Place of Employment:

Favorite Hangout as an IU Student:
During the day I would hang out with my friends at the Union, usually by the bowling alley/billiards area. At night, when I became of age (of course), we would go to Kilroy’s Sports for beach volleyball or the Bluebird if Real Eyes was playing. For dancing, it was J. Arthur’s on Thursdays.

What do you enjoy most about living in a college town?
I love the small-town feeling with the big-city entertainment options. There’s always something going on and something to do. Being a "townie," however, I do love the summers when it’s less crowded and the pace slows a bit. I love the summer festivals and fairs.

Where did you live?
I grew up in Ellettsville and graduated from Edgewood High School, so I lived at home and commuted daily to campus. Not very exciting, I know. A part of me wishes I lived away from home for a while, but in the end it was probably better for my GPA!

What is your fondest memory of your years as an IU student?
I don't have one in particular, but I loved the SPEA program. I truly enjoyed every minute I spent in class, the instructors, and my fellow students. It was interesting and diverse and I honestly felt that I was a part of something special, that we were going to go out and change the world. It was the best experience and I am so happy I was accepted into the school.
