St. Joseph County Wins Chapter of the Year
The St. Joseph County Chapter of the IUAA has been recognized by the IU Alumni Association as the Chapter of the Year for the Ryan (large chapter) Division for 2008-09. This award is given for "excellence in programming and alumni outreach" and was presented to the chapter at the IUAA Awards Banquet in June 2009.
"I’m truly honored that our chapter has been selected for this prestigious award," said Chapter President Tim Batalis, "I believe it’s a reflection of our efforts to provide a high level of programming and service for our 13,000 plus IU alumni in St. Joseph County. We’ve had an outstanding year and we look forward to doing even better during 2009-10."
Through numerous activities and events each year, IU alumni chapters provide IU graduates with numerous opportunities to network, assist their local communities, socialize, and recruit top students to IU.
