Our mission is not only to help our students refine their intellects, but also to touch their hearts and souls. We encourage them to examine their values and develop an ethical framework that will guide them throughout their lives. We stress the importance of their becoming not merely 'residents' but 'citizens' of the communities they call home. This must continue to be the defining characteristic of an Indiana University education. - Dr. Adam Herbert, Former President
