The Edgewater Beach Hotel and Club in Naples, Florida will be your base as you spend six days exploring the spectacular diversity of plant and animal life in the Everglades. On hand will be experienced lecturers, including an environmentalist, a biologist, and an archaeologist who will lead an exploration of the Calusa Indian shell mounds. In addition, your tour guide is Greg Greer, an outstanding naturalist who has given hundreds of presentations to a wide variety of audiences over the last 35 years. Included are excursions to Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge, Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary, Fakahatchee Strand Preserve, Big Cypress National Preserve, and Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park. A trip to Everglades National Park will feature both the wonderful Anhinga Trail and an airboat ride. The Edgewater Beach Hotel is located directly on the beach, overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, and is minutes away from the fine restaurants and shopping of Old Naples. All rooms have separate living and dining areas, fully equipped kitchens, and either a patio or balcony.
