Why we chose IU

Kim: I chose IU for its program in adapted physical education back in 1977. It was an up-and-coming field and I was very interested in helping students with disabilities gain more fitness and enjoyment of physical activities.

Nancy: I took classes from IU to complete my teaching license when I started teaching at Bloomington High School North.

Favorite memories of IU

Both: Going to IU women’s basketball games…the women winning the Big Ten Tourney … go Hoosiers.

Advice for GLBT students

Both: Be who you are ... know that you are wonderful and have many people around who will and do support you.

Why the GLBTAA is important to me

Both: Community is important to both of us and the IUAA gave us a chance to help create an every growing, every powerful, and ever present community of Indiana University GLBT alumni. We all crave having a supportive and loving community in our lives and we wanted to help create and sustain that for all of us.
