Web Calendar of Events

The IUAA takes part in the university-wide online calendar system called IU Events. The IU Events system is comprised of hundreds of IU Web calendars which all have the capability to automatically link to one another. This makes it easier for users to find events by topic, area, or location. It is also easier for event submitters, because they only have to enter each event once and it can appear on multiple calendars. An event submitter can also choose for the activity to appear on a campus events calendar.

Some chapter Web site calendars are linked to the All Alumni Events calendar. Any event placed on a chapter calendar will appear on the All Alumni Events calendar. Changes made on any chapter calendar will change the event on the All Alumni Events calendar.

Please review the IUAA Chapter Calendars Manual which contains instructions on how to submit events to the IUAA Online Calendars for chapter leaders. The procedure described in the manual is simple and does not require a user log-in and password. It is different from using Chapters Online.

If you do not have a Web site hosted by the IUAA, you may still post items on the IUAA All Events Calendar. Follow the same instructions in the manual, however start from the IUAA All Events Calendar instead of a chapter calendar.

If you have a chapter site hosted by the IUAA and post to your online chapter calendar, your event will post on the IUAA All Events Calendar also. Therefore, your posted events can be viewed by IU alumni in all geographic locations.

Posting Calendar Events on Your Chapter Web site

You no longer have to worry about posting events on your homepage! All the chapter calendars hosted by the IUAA will have a new template that automatically displays and deletes upcoming events on the homepage from the chapter online calendar. View the Upcoming Events on the Chicago Chapter Web site as an example.

Making Changes to Submitted Events

If you have any changes to make to a submitted calendar request, you may either contact your chapter representatives or submit the change as a Web Request on Chapters Online.
