Project: Volunteer with World Vision
Details: Volunteers will help count, sort, and package products for domestic and international use to help children and families affected by poverty or disaster.Volunteers must be able to stand for long periods of time, bend and lift up to 50 lbs. Wear old clothing and comfortable, closed toe shoes (no sandals). Water bottle recommended.

Project: Interfaith Outreach Projects
Details: Our chapter will be assisting Interfaith Community Council Inc., based in New Albany, Ind., with stocking and finishing up their new food pantry. We will work together for several hours before lunch is served and our student participants head back to Bloomington.

Project: A weeklong blood drive to assist the American Red Cross of Columbus in their goal of 650 blood donors per day for 2009.

Project: Habitat for Humanity Work Day
Details: Volunteers will work on a local Habitat project. Work clothes and gloves are required. Water bottle recommended.

San Francisco Bay Area Chapter of the IUAA
Project: Vegetative Management in the Golden Gate National Parks
Details: Bring waiver forms. Wear comfortable work clothes, long pants, and sturdy shoes or boots (no shorts or sandals). Dress in layers for changing weather, bring a hat, and wear sunscreen. The program is on, rain or shine. Please bring rain gear if necessary, other needed items will be provided by the program. Snacks, water, and all necessary tools, supplies, and training will be provided as well.

Indonesian Chapter of the IUAA
Project: The Wandering Library Project
Details: A get-together will be held for alumni with a silent auction for services as well as an IU kit, shirts, hats, etc. Proceeds will go the Wandering Library Foundation which has a traveling library that takes English books to underprivileged areas outside of Jakarta. The Lakeshore Region Chapter is sending additional English books to donate. A presentation to the Wandering Library Foundation of books and funds will be made during April.

Metro N.Y.C. Chapter of the IUAA
Project: Hands On New York
Details: In collaboration with fellow Big Ten alumni chapters in New York, IU alumni will join volunteers across the city to clean and revitalize 100 parks, gardens, playgrounds, community centers, and schools and plant more than 20,000 trees. Follow the "Register today!" link at the bottom of the page and join the "Big Apple Big Ten" team. A $20 tax-deductible participation fee is required to cover the cost of the event, and you have the option to donate or raise additional funds for the cause.

Project: Beach Clean Up
Details: Volunteers should wear sturdy closed-toe shoes and clothing appropriate for a clean up. Hats, water bottle, and sunscreen are recommended. Other cleanup equipment will be provided at site. There is a waiver to be filled out in participation with I Love A Clean San Diego organization as well. Please join the local chapter following the work day for barbecue.

Project: Bike Park and Trail Cleanup
Details: Details- We will be in the same place as last year, the Seattle Parks Colonnade Offroad Bicycle park and working with the Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance. All volunteers are welcome to gather following the work day to watch IU's Little 500 at Jillians, about 10 min from the bike park!

Project: Lebanon Community Clean-Up
Details: Working at Lebanon Memorial Park, central shelter. Volunteers will work as a group to cleanup an assigned area of the city that the Community Vision Committee has predetermined. Work ceases at noon when workers will return to the community shelter in the park for lunch (apparently provided at no fee).
