IU Cares Month Planning Steps
Central Indiana Chapter members raise money for Riley Hospital for Children by participatingSTEP 1: Plan Your Project
Conduct an existing service project or plan something new. You can plan a grassroots project, partner with another agency or charitable group, or
continue to do a project that your chapter has already begun! Whatever you do, think "newsworthy" from the start! Please remember that your project
must take place in April. Click here for an IU Cares Month Planning Kit.
STEP 2: Go the Extra Mile...
A good service project not only benefits those being served. It can also strengthen a chapter’s recruitment, retention, and publicity efforts. A
good project can also impact prospective students, donors, and legislators in a positive way for Indiana University. No matter what service project
you select, involve ALL chapter members and interested non-members and think about coordinating other Keystones of Excellence and PR opportunities
from the start. Don't forget to make it FUN!
STEP 3: Report Your Success!
Carry out your project and report your successes on the IU Cares Month Success Form IU no later than May 15. Click here to print the form. IU Cares
Month Awards will be given to projects that are unique, creative and innovative. Outstanding projects will be selected and honored at our Chapter
Leader’s Conference in June. We would also like photos and stories for our IU Cares Month Web site.
