What is IU Cares Month?
An annual public awareness and community service campaign sponsored by the IUAA and its worldwide chapter network. All chapters nationwide are invited to participate.
What is our Chapter’s Mission?
Plan one special community service project in your local community in April. Because IU Cares Month is designed to strengthen chapters while at the same time expanding IU’s visibility nationwide, we recommend that you include recruitment and public awareness activities as part of your project. This guide contains suggestions for doing so.
What happens when our IU Cares Month project ends?
Send in your completed IU Cares Month Success Form (attached to this planning guide). This form shares your good IU Cares Month news and includes a place to include pictures and news stories about your event.
How do we get started?
Select an IU Cares Month coordinator – a chapter member who will oversee the project and ensure that all chapter members are involved. Select a chapter volunteer who is enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and organized! Duties are outlined below. (Please share this planning guide
with your coordinator.)
