Scholarship
Purpose
The purpose of the Latino Alumni Association Undergraduate Scholarship is to award and recognize students who are prepared academically, involved in their communities, exhibit leadership qualities benefiting the Latino community, and work to foster an appreciation of the Latino experience in the United States.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be a full-time, undergraduate IUB student;
- Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0;
- Have completed at least 24 undergraduate credits;
- Have graduated from a high school located in the U.S. or its commonwealths; and
- Agree to participate in LAA activities such as the alumni reunion and mentorship program for at least one semester, if selected as a scholarship recipient.
Selection Criteria
Applicants are evaluated on the following: academic record, community service, essay response, and involvement with and leadership within the Latino community. Preference is given to applicants of Hispanic/Latino heritage.

Only complete, timely applications will be considered. The application must include the following:
- Completed online application form (must use IU e-mail address)
- Submission of two essays described in application form
