Class Notes

  • William D. Curtis (MAT'68) has retired after teaching Latin for 41 years. During his career, he received two Fulbright Fellowships, attended 24 National Junior Classical League conventions, won an NJCL Summa Cum Laude teaching award in 2000, and led 11 guided tours to Rome for students and adults. Curtis lives in Lacey, a suburb of Olympia, Wash.
  • Steve M. Thompson (BS'72) a self-confessed Smokey and the Bandit "nut" writes, "I am the owner of a restored 1977 Pontiac Trans Am, like the one in the Smokey and the Bandit movie. I drove it on the 2007 30th anniversary Bandit Run from Texarkana, Texas, to Atlanta, [following] the same route as in the original movie. It was a blast!" Thompson recently sold his Allstate Insurance Co. agency in Colorado Springs, Colo., and is continuing his insurance career in Denver, where he lives.
  • Mary F. Panszi (JD'88) of Indianapolis, has been appointed to the board of directors of the Central Indiana Association of Collaborative Professionals, an organization composed of attorneys working to create client-centered processes for resolving conflict. Panszi has represented thousands of clients over the past 23 years in all areas of family law. She is an attorney with the law firm Lewis Wagner in Indianapolis.
  • Lydia S. Roll (BA'01, BA'04) recently wrapped up a stint teaching English in Seoul, South Korea. In August she started a new position as an English instructor at Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey. During her time at IU, Roll was Union Board student director in 2003.
  • Sean C. Snow (BA'09) writes that he is working as a production assistant on the 20th Century Fox Television show Futurama. He lives in North Hollywood, Calif.
