Why I chose IU
I had a very clear vision of what college should look like. Indiana University Bloomington, with its limestone architecture and beautiful landscape, brought that vision into reality. It also brought deep-rooted traditions of academic excellence, athletic success, and alumni camaraderie. IUB had it all. The moment I stepped onto campus, I knew I had found a new home.

Favorite memory of IU
When the IUB men’s basketball team beat Oklahoma to get to the NCAA championship game in 2002, the entire community went insane. I will never forget the enthusiasm, excitement, and the mob of people on Kirkwood Avenue. Students, alumni, and locals gathered together to celebrate the win. I cannot wait for our team to get back there so the community can once again come alive.

Advice to undergraduates
Go to class. Half of life is showing up. Study hard. Take advantage of the university’s resources. Be active. Get involved in student groups and participate in events on campus and in your community. The four, or in my case five, years of college go by extremely fast. Cherish every moment!

Why the IU Alumni Association is important to me
Indiana University changed my life in many ways, and I will forever bleed cream and crimson. The Indiana University Alumni Association has given me an outlet to express my enthusiasm for IU and a way to stay connected to my alma mater. The IUAA helps me find dynamic people to share in life’s crazy days, and it gives me opportunities to help me grow as an individual and as a member of my community. The IUAA is my Indiana family.
