Why I chose IU
I always knew growing up in Indiana that I wanted to go to IU. Then, as it came closer to the time to
choose where I was actually going to go to college, it was a no-brainer for me, given that I wanted to
get a degree in business. Plus, the Hoosiers winning the national championship in 1987 sealed the deal!
Favorite memories of IU
There are so many wonderful memories from my experience at IU — lifelong friendships formed, IU
basketball and football games (including a memorable road trip to Michigan State), living in "Disco
Briscoe," meeting my wonderful wife, Lisa, and learning some wonderful life lessons that helped make me
who I am today.
Advice to undergraduates
Take full advantage of everything this wonderful university provides for you — the IU Auditorium,
Jacobs School of Music, academic services, culture, arts, and much more. Also, take some time to get to
know Bloomington — it is a great city with a lot to offer. Lastly, study hard but make sure you
take time to have some fun.
Why the IU Alumni Association is important to me
I wanted to remain connected to IU after graduation, and the IU Alumni Association did exactly that for me.
As a member of the local Monroe County chapter, I have attended some great events and met a whole new set
of friends. The IUAA allows me, as an active volunteer, to give something back to IU.
