IU Trustees select Dr. Adam W. Herbert as 17th president

An eight month search concluded Thursday, June 5, 2003 when members of Indiana University’s Board of Trustees voted to appoint Adam W. Herbert as the 17th president of IU. The Trustees' meeting and Dr. Herbert’s press conference were carried live around the world on the Internet and on television throughout the state of Indiana.
