In becoming a Pro Bowl quarterback, Trent Green never forgot the impact Indiana University had on his life.

Trent Green, a St. Louis native, played football for the IU Hoosiers from 1990 to 1992. In 1991, he had IU's top passing season ever with 2,627 yards, leading IU to a 7–4–1 record and a 24–0 win over Baylor in the Copper Bowl.

In 2004, he returned to visit the newly renovated Trent and Julie Green Locker Room at Memorial Stadium that he and his wife financed. The facelift includes new carpeting and lighting, a new ceiling, and custom-built oak lockers.

"My wife and I feel great allegiance to the school," Green said after IU's entire team gave him a standing ovation. "To know that the guys here appreciate it means a lot."

Green overcame significant obstacles before emerging as one of the NFL's best quarterbacks. He didn't make a pro team his first year out of college and later suffered a devastating knee injury that forced him to miss the 1999 season.

Now in his fourth season with the Kansas City Chiefs, he says he's blessed to be in his position. To help repay his good fortune, he created the Trent Green Family Foundation, which helps families with chronically or terminally ill children or seniors.
