Political Science Professor Regina Smyth discusses democracy in Russia in terms of Vladimir Putin’s presidency, his popularity, and the single political party that still dominates Russian politics. She compares life in Russia under Putin to life under Putin’s predecessor, Boris Yeltsin, and makes projections of what will become of Putin after his term ends in 2008.
