Mike Wright named editor in chief of the Indiana Alumni Magazine

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Indiana University Alumni Association President and CEO Ken Beckley has announced the hiring of Mike Wright as editor in chief of the Indiana Alumni Magazine.
“Mike is eminently qualified to continue the tradition of outstanding editors of one of the top alumni magazines in the nation,” said Beckley.
Wright joined the Indiana Alumni Magazine in April 2000 as managing editor. His 30-year career in journalism has included stints as higher-education reporter and City Hall reporter for the Bloomington (Ind.) Herald-Times and as reporter, desk editor, and managing editor for the Vincennes (Ind.) Sun-Commercial. He has also worked for newspapers in Indianapolis and Chapel Hill, N.C.
A radioman in the U.S. Navy from 1971 to 1975, Wright earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism from IU Bloomington in 1978. He lives in Bloomington with his wife, Karen Wright. The couple have one daughter, Richelle Wright Brown.
