IU Alumni Association names Conor McIntyre director of student programs

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Conor McIntyre began work at the Indiana University Alumni Association on Feb. 5 as director of student programs.

McIntyre comes to the IUAA from St. Paul Catholic Center, where he served as director of campus ministry for nearly four years. Before moving to Bloomington, he spent nine years in the student affairs office at the University of Dayton (Ohio), where he was responsible for planning student retreats and leadership development programs. He has also taught English as a Second Language in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He holds a B.A. in English secondary education from Bowling Green State University in Ohio and an M.A. in theological studies from the University of Dayton.

As director of student programs, McIntyre will oversee the Alumni Association’s programs for IU students, including the Student Alumni Association, the largest student organization at IU Bloomington. SAA has over 2,000 members and coordinates a variety of campus events including Homecoming, leadership and career development programs, and philanthropic activities. He will also advise Straight No Chaser and Ladies First, the men’s and women’s student a cappella groups sponsored by the IUAA. In addition to overseeing the Bloomington student programs, McIntyre will advise other IU campuses on best practices for their student alumni associations.
