SAA, IUAA salute graduating students
April 24, 2007
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Indiana University’s class of 2007 is invited to the annual Senior Salute on Thursday, April 26, from 4-6 p.m. in the tent behind the DeVault Alumni Center (1000 E. 17th St., across from Assembly Hall). In the event of rain, the festivities will move indoors.
Senior Salute is the biggest graduation party on campus. Hosted by the IU Student Alumni Association and the IU Alumni Association, it is a party to congratulate the senior class and introduce them to the multiple ways to stay connected to IU long after graduation. All students graduating in 2007 are invited.
This year's event will feature free food and beverages, live music by Dave and Rae, and the senior tree dedication ceremony. Door prizes will include a life membership in the IUAA, an official IU ring, a diploma frame, and an iPod nano. The first 1,000 seniors in attendance will receive a free Class of 2007 commemorative glass. Seniors must present their student ID cards in order to receive prizes.
Major sponsors of Senior Salute include the IU Foundation, the Varsity Club, IU Athletics, Liberty Mutual, Chipotle, and the Indiana Memorial Union.
One of the largest and most active student organizations at IU Bloomington, the Student Alumni Association sponsors student leadership initiatives and events such as Homecoming, Networking Nights, LeaderShape IU, and business-etiquette programs.
The Indiana University Alumni Association is dedicated to serving the university and its diverse alumni, students, and friends. As one of the nation's largest alumni organizations, serving more than 495,000 graduates worldwide, the IUAA provides many programs and services to its members, non-member alumni, and the university.
