IUAA Student Programs: Internships and Jobs Available

Fall 2009 Internship
IU Alumni Association Marketing Internship
September 2009 through April 2010
Ten hours per week
Pay: $10/hour
Responsibilities
- Assist with a variety of marketing efforts for IUAA membership and affinity programs.
- Coordinate distribution of the Indiana Alumni Magazine on campus.
- Write marketing messages for IU credit card statements.
- Develop alumni profiles.
- Promote membership at events including football tailgates, Grad Fair and the Senior Luncheon.
- Complete other projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must have knowledge of Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Be dependable and organized.
- Successful candidate will demonstrate a positive attitude and enthusiasm for IU. This is an excellent opportunity to gain marketing experience.

Marketing/Membership Internships
Two positions available
May-Aug. 31, 2009, 20 hours/week
Responsibilities
- Assist with and execute marketing and sales.
- Serve as IUAA/SAA representative at freshman and transfer orientation programs in the resource center during June and July, promoting programs to incoming student and parents.
- Membership sales and fulfillment.
- Coordinate renewal campaigns, e-mails, answer phones, plan events, research projects.
- Initiate personal contact and follow up with new members.
- Collaborate with campus programs (Intensive Freshman Seminar, international programs, etc.) during August for programs/outreach.
Requirements
- Available to work approximately 20 hours per week, some additional hours as needed to accommodate programs.
- Completed at least two semesters at IU Bloomington by May 2009.
- Must be available as scheduled. Some weekend work required, including May 20-25; July 3-5 will not require any hours.
- Knowledge of IU Bloomington campus.
- Knowledge of Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong presentation, public speaking, and writing skills.
- Attention to detail and a strong work ethic.
- A friendly, open, and welcoming attitude.
- Valid driver’s license, with a driving record that meets University standards.
- Experience and/or familiarity with orientation programs, leadership experience on campus; familiarity with IU Alumni Association or IU Student Alumni Association is a plus.
