
Strategic Goals
Following are the strategic goals determined by the executive team.
1. Development — The IUAA seeks to build meaningful and longlasting relationships with alumni and friends to foster loyalty and connections with each other, the Alumni Association, and the university.
2. Advocacy — The IUAA calls to action its more than 500,000 living graduates and friends to serve and advocate for the university.
3. International Alumni Relations — The IUAA serves the university’s alumni and students through international outreach.
4. Communications/Marketing — The IUAA assists Indiana University through the association’s communications media and programs in telling the university and IUAA stories to alumni and friends.
5. Partnerships — The IUAA is a vital university citizen in assisting its many partners in support of IU.
6. Diversity — The IUAA is dedicated to serving the university and its diverse alumni, students, and friends.
7. Future Direction — One University–One Association: The IUAA will structure itself to effectively serve the university of the future.
8. Resources — The IUAA must garner the necessary resources to fulfill the association’s mission and strategic efforts.
Next Steps
- Form oversight teams to review each of the eight strategic goals to ensure the actions taken to accomplish these goals address the six areas of engagement that the university assigned to the IUAA.
- Develop additional action plans and indicators of progress with staff.
- Report on success, accomplishments, and changes.
Summary
hese eight strategic goals of the Indiana University Alumni Association set the framework to build meaningful relationships with alumni and friends of IU and to mobilize more than half a million living alumni to assist the university in achieving the dual missions of the university: education and research.
The IUAA will work to find the resources to mobilize our alumni, form and continue partnerships within the university, and continue to communicate IU’s story to alumni and the public. The IUAA will further its international outreach to support the university’s goal to provide students with the best global literacy possible and add to the diversity of the institution.
The IUAA stands ready to continue to support our alma mater in its quest to continue to be among the very best institutions of higher learning in the United States and the world.
