IU Alumni Association
It pays to have IUAA connections.
The IUAA offers scholarships specifically to the children of IUAA members, staff, and chapter leaders. Student leaders are also eligible to apply.
Below are scholarships awarded to students who have an IUAA connection.
IU license plate holders can be proud. For nearly 20 years, revenue received from the IU Collegiate License Plate Program has funded our IUAA Scholars scholarships. In 2013, 33 $1,000 scholarships were awarded.
Each year, the IUAA awards scholarships to current freshmen, sophomore, or junior full-time students attending any IU campus who are the sons and daughters of IU Alumni Association members.
Scholarships are awarded on the basis of financial need and academic achievement as determined by the Office of Student Enrollment Services, and preference is given to first-time recipients of the scholarship.
The deadline for applications for IUAA Scholars scholarships is March 28, 2014. Apply here.
Charles and Jo Ann Linsmith Scholarship
Children and grandchildren of IUAA staff members, student leaders of IUAA-sponsored organizations, and IUAA student employees are eligible to receive the Linsmith Scholarship. Selection is based on outstanding character, financial need, and academic achievement.
The Linsmith Scholarship was established by Jo Ann Linsmith, BS'72, of Bradenton, Fla., who died in 2009. She and her husband, the late Charles Linsmith, MS'64, served IU as devoted alumni. Jo Ann helped found and served as president of the former IU Alumni Club of Sarasota and Manatee Counties (Fla.), which is now the Florida Suncoast Chapter of the IUAA. She served on the IUAA Executive Council and received the IUAA President's Award in 2000. Through the Linsmith Scholarships, she wished to recognize the service and devotion of the association's staff members and students.

Jerry Foster Memorial Scholarship
Each year, a child of an alumni chapter leader—who currently serves as an officer or board member—receives this $1,500 scholarship. The student must be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student on any of the IU campuses.
The Foster Scholarship was established in memory of Jerry Foster, BS’74, who served as IUAA’s alumni chapter director. Jerry died in December 1992, but through this scholarship, his connection with IUAA’s chapters continues.
The scholarship is awarded based on academic achievement and financial need as determined by the Office of Student Information and Fiscal Services, and preference is given to first-time recipients of the scholarship.
The deadline for applications for the Foster Scholarship is March 28, 2014. Apply here.
